Long-term injury is giving me troubles, any exercises and/or advice on how to proceed?

Two years ago I nearly tore a ligament in my foot and now it bothers me again. Whenever I dance, swim (I can’t get power off the wall or much power while kicking…) and whenever I play football I feel a large strain– painful, not a sharp feeling, long-lasting, feels like something ‘popping’, pain travels up to my calf…

Coaches tell me to see a doctor to re-examine the problem, some tell me to get surgery, physio-therapy, etc… My parents tell me I can’t see a doctor until I get back to the States, which will be in about 6 months, because the doctors here aren’t that helpful (Beijing). Please, any advice…?
Thanks in advance.

Do toe points and toe lifts. Rotate your ankle in circles ,both directions. Stretch out you hamstrings( back of leg) and calves.
