Is the dialect of Mandarin Chinese that is spoken in Beijing the same as or similar to the one spoken in Xian?

The cities has their own language everyone that they would know mandarin in china that they would know mandarin the cities language but other then they would know mandarin everyone in mandarin because.

There are 8 Mandarin dialects as shown here
It will not be a problem if you have problems just show them your phase book as there will be a standardised mandarin they would had been taught in school
