i am planning on flying to moscow from england,going on the trans-siberian railway across russia almost to the end,where i will change trains and head to beijing,china.from there i am planning on travelling down to the bottom of china to LAOS,where i will then travel into thailand.i plan to do this in november 2008.
i am looking for advice from people whove been same route or similar.advice on crossing the borders,visa requirements,what i should take as essentials(dont be smartarse and say passport)
what should i look out for?
is there any problems you can see with the route i plan to take?

We will most likely be going from december 3rd, until whenever the tour is done. The descriptions sound great for both, and the temperatures seem acceptable to us, from their estimates.

Can you give any advice as to why we should choose one trip over the other? Considering that it is in December, and we would like to see both museums/cities as well as small towns and regular life.
